Border 2 Movie: Bollywood's superhit film 'Border', released in the year 1997, made a special place in the hearts of the audience. This film not only rocked the box office, but also depicted the image of a new war in Indian cinema. Now, 27 years later, preparations are being made to take forward the series of this memorable film with 'Border 2'. However, even before the release of this film, legal disputes have surrounded Sunny Deol and JP Dutta's 'Border 2'.

Beginning of the dispute

The shooting of the film has started and the star cast is being announced gradually, but along with this a serious legal dispute has also come to the fore between 'Border 2' producer Nidhi Dutta and the film's financier and distributor Bharat Shah. Bharat Shah has claimed that he has all the rights of 'Border' and due to this he has raised objections regarding 'Border 2'. She issued a public notice to the makers of the film, claiming her rights over 'Border 2'.

Nidhi Dutta's response

In the context of this dispute, Nidhi Dutta has confirmed her rights, rejecting Bharat Shah's claims. In an interview, Nidhi Dutta said, “We have already won the court case and the Hon'ble High Court dismissed the case in our favour. Bharat Shah has not given us any business records of the film till date and as per the agreement, he had to pay us extra first. Under this agreement, he has no stake in 'Border 2'.”

She further added, “We had already made it clear in the agreement that we are not responsible for any of his demands. Therefore, he has no rights in 'Border 2'."

Background of the legal battle

This dispute started when Bharat Shah accused JP Dutta in 2014 of not paying him half of the earnings of 'Border' and the matter reached the court. Now this legal battle is affecting the preparations of 'Border 2', which is creating obstacles in the way of the film's production and release.

Direction and announcement of the film

'Border 2' will be directed by Anurag Singh, who is the director of 'Kesari', 'Punjab 1984', 'Jatt and Juliet' and 'Dil Bole Hadippa!' The film was announced on June 13, 2024, on the 27th anniversary of 'Border'. The makers have dubbed it 'India's biggest war film', and the audience has high expectations from it.

Despite the controversial aspect of the film and the legal tussle, there is no dearth of curiosity among the audience about 'Border 2'. Only time will tell how the legal complexities of this film will be resolved and how the film will make an impact on the big screen.
