Dudu the smallest, Jaisalmer the largest district

Dudu will now be the smallest district in Rajasthan. There will be only one assembly constituency in Dudu district. Jaisalmer is still the largest district by area.

19 new districts were announced, Jaipur-Jodhpur were already there, so only 17 became new

The government had announced 19 new districts. There was a dispute over the announcement of Jaipur North, Jaipur South, Jodhpur North and Jodhpur South districts. There was huge opposition to the division of Jaipur and Jodhpur districts into North and South. The government later found a middle ground and renamed these districts as Jaipur, Jaipur Rural, Jodhpur and Jodhpur Rural. Jaipur and Jodhpur districts were already there, so actually 17 new districts were formed instead of 19. There were already 33 districts. Now including these new 17 districts, there are 50 districts in the state.
