Electoral Bonds Case: State Bank of India (SBI) has submitted the complete details of Electoral Bonds to the Election Commission (EC) today i.e. on Tuesday. The information has come to light quoting sources. The Supreme Court on Monday reprimanded SBI and rejected the petition seeking extension of deadline for providing information related to electoral bonds. Along with this, the top court had ordered that SBI should hand over the complete information about electoral bonds to the Election Commission by the end of working hours on March 12. According to this order of the court, SBI has handed over the complete data of electoral bonds to the Election Commission by 5.30 pm on Tuesday.

EC will now publish data on its website

CJI D.Y. in Supreme Court A five-judge Constitution bench led by Chandrachud also directed the Election Commission to publish the information shared by SBI on its official website by 5 pm on March 15. In such a situation, now the Election Commission will have to publish the data sent by SBI on its website by March 15. In the hearing held in the Supreme Court, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice B.R. Gavai, Justice J.B. Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra were also present. The bench issued notice to SBI saying that if the bank fails to comply with its directions and timelines, the court may take action against it for willful disobedience of its February 15 decision.

The court had canceled the electoral bond scheme of the Centre.

Let us tell you that on February 15, a five-member Constitution Bench had given a historic decision canceling the electoral bond scheme of the Centre. Also terming it unconstitutional, the Election Commission was ordered to disclose the donors, amount given as donations and recipients of donations by March 13. After this decision of the Supreme Court, SBI had appealed to extend the deadline till June 30 for disclosing the details of electoral bonds, but the apex court on Monday rejected SBI's request and declared the elections within working hours on Tuesday evening. Ordered to hand over all the details to the Commission.
