Shanaya is quite popular even before stepping into films and she also competes with big actors in terms of fan following. Recently, Shanaya made her ramp walk debut at Lakme Fashion Week. She became a showstopper for the famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra. However, he was trolled badly on social media. Users said on their walking style that it is not a model-like walk at all, they need training.

Many other videos of Shanaya also went viral. In one, she was touching her hair again and again, the user wrote, 'She is touching her hair too much and the walk is also uncomfortable.' One said 'She needs training from Sushmita Sen and not from Karan Johar' .'
