Why has the white paper been brought?

The purpose of this White Paper is to learn lessons from the mismanagement of those years. UPA made good economy non performing

The 'White Paper on the Indian Economy' tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha said the UPA government inherited a healthy economy ripe for more reforms. But in its ten years it became non-performing. When the UPA government began its tenure in 2004, the economy was growing at 8 percent amid a good world economic environment. The growth rate of industry and services sector was more than 7 percent and the growth rate of agriculture sector was more than 9 percent in FY 2004.
