A private clinic on Kali Manda Road in Deoghar, Jharkhand declared a live newborn baby dead after delivery. Angered by this, the relatives ransacked the clinic and beat up the health workers. Later, after the intervention of the police, the matter was pacified. Rekha Devi, grandmother of the newborn resident of Madhupur Piprasol, told that her daughter-in-law was delivered in the clinic. When the newborn was born, the doctors told that he was not alive and he had died.

He further told that after the doctors declared the newborn dead, the relatives brought him home and started performing the last rites, but during the burial, the newborn suddenly started crying. After this, the relatives came to know that the newborn whom the doctors told dead, is actually alive.

The family members became furious about the doctors and ransacked the hospital. The relatives have taken the newborn to Deoghar for better treatment. At present, the police has started investigating the matter. Here the operator of the private clinic, Dr. Devanand Prakash has called the incident baseless.
