Arvind Kejriwal: The level of political rhetoric in India sometimes becomes so fierce that it exposes the internal conflicts of national politics. One such recent controversy was seen between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, when PM Modi handed over the keys of permanent houses to slum dwellers of Delhi and launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.PM Modi's attackPrime Minister Modi took a significant step on Friday in Delhi when he gave the keys of permanent houses to slum dwellers. On this occasion, he said that his primary objective is to provide housing to the poor, not to build a palace for himself. Attacking the Delhi government, PM Modi said, "I have not built any house for myself till date, I could have built a Sheeshmahal for myself if I wanted. But for us, giving houses to the poor is a priority." Referring to the bad situation in Delhi, PM Modi said, "There is a disaster here."Kejriwal's counterattackAfter this statement of PM Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference and took a dig at PM Modi, saying that there is a disaster not in Delhi, but in BJP. He looked critically at Modi's 43-minute speech, in which he criticized the people of Delhi for 39 minutes. Kejriwal said, "In 2015, the people of Delhi elected two governments: one BJP at the Center and the other Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. BJP did not do any work in ten years, while the AAP government did many development works."Kejriwal accused the BJP of only demolishing slums, and if Delhiites vote for BJP again, all the slums will be demolished. He also said that no major scheme was made in Delhi under the leadership of PM Modi, but only criticism and controversies have increased.BJP's promises on slums and poorKejriwal mentioned PM Modi's 2020 promises, in which he promised to give pucca houses to the people of Delhi. But, no concrete steps have been taken in this direction so far. Only 1700 keys were given from 2020 to 2025, which shows the failure of their plans. Apart from this, he alleged that the BJP has rendered more than 2 lakh people homeless and completely denied the promises made in 2020.Accused BJP of 'disaster'Kejriwal said that there are three types of disasters in the BJP- lack of CM face, lack of narrative, and lack of agenda. Citing the rising crime in Delhi and the problems of traders, he said that the voice of these problems is not reaching the ears of the Home Minister. This controversy not only affects the politics of Delhi, but it also gives an opportunity to question the political equations and development plans in other parts of the country. Political tussle is going on between the two major parties in Delhi at the moment, and its effect will be clearly visible in the upcoming elections.
