Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi: On Wednesday, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead by three miscreants in his house in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Sukhdev Singh was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, where he died. Tension has increased in the state after the incident. There have been reports of demonstrations from many places including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar. Stones were pelted at a government bus in Churu. Along with this, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena and other communities of Rajasthan have announced a statewide bandh today i.e. on Wednesday in protest against the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Karni Sena has demanded an encounter with the killers. Rohit Godara, associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken responsibility for the murder on social media. He has said that Gogamedi was supporting and empowering his gang's enemies.

Miscreants entered the house on the pretext of talking

According to the police, during this incident the attackers also shot one person and another person present in the house was seriously injured. Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra said that the attackers entered Gogamedi's house on the pretext of talking and after talking for some time, they started firing bullets. According to him, the guards of Gogamedi also returned fire. Mishra said that later both the attackers also shot Naveen Shekhawat who was accompanying them. According to him, Gogamedi and Naveen died in this incident, while acquaintance Ajit was seriously injured.

According to the DGP, to search for the accused, the police is conducting strict blockade and raiding possible hideouts. Appealing to the people to maintain patience and peace, he has instructed the police to exercise special vigilance and increase security. He said, "Rohit Godara gang has taken responsibility for this incident. Keeping this in mind, people in contact with the miscreants are being identified and raids are being carried out continuously in the neighboring districts and Bikaner division also." He told that he himself spoke to the Director General of Police of neighboring state Haryana and sought his cooperation. He expressed confidence that the police team will soon be successful in arresting the criminals.

Protests in many districts of the state against the murder

The entire incident of attack on Gogamedi was recorded in the CCTV camera installed at the house. According to police, Gogamedi, who was badly injured, was taken to a hospital in Mansarovar, where he died. A large number of Gogamedi's supporters sat on a dharna outside the hospital demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Supporters have called for Jaipur bandh today. Along with this, supporters have warned of statewide bandh. After the murder of Gogamedi, supporters have protested in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Churu, Udaipur demanding the arrest of the criminals. After the incident, Governor Kalraj Mishra directed the police to take strict and effective action against the criminals.
