IPL 2024: Former Indian team captain Rahul Dravid, who was the coach of Team India till the ODI World Cup, can make a comeback in IPL. Rahul Dravid's contract with Team India was till the World Cup. After this, there is no news yet on whether Rahul continues as the coach of Team India or not. But there have been reports that if Dravid does not stay with Team India, then some IPL franchises would like to include him. Dravid has coached in IPL before also. He has been the mentor of Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Now there are reports that Lucknow Super Giants wants to add Dravid to their team.

Quoting sources in the report, it is written that talks are going on between Dravid and the Lucknow team. Lucknow had entered IPL from 2022. This franchise has been around for two years. This franchise had made it to the playoffs in both the seasons. During this period, Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of the team. But recently Gambhir left Lucknow and returned to his old team Kolkata Knight Riders.

According to the report, everything depends on what is the final talk between Dravid and BCCI. BCCI has not said anything about extending Dravid's tenure or allowing him to apply again for the post of coach. Nothing has come to light on this matter from both sides. Dravid has been the coach of Team India since 2021. He did not want to hold this post but the then BCCI President Sourav Ganguly convinced him. Now it remains to be seen what decision Dravid takes this time. If Dravid returns to IPL then he will have time. Dravid remains very busy while being with Team India. But if he comes to IPL, then he will have to work only for two-three months. Dainik Jagran has told in its report that Rajasthan Royals have also offered Dravid to become their mentor.

Under Dravid's coach, Team India reached the final of the ODI World Cup, but could not win the title. Currently, the Indian team is playing a five-match T20 series against Australia but Dravid is not with the team because his tenure has ended. At present the head of NCA is VVS. Laxman is playing the role of coach of the team. It is believed that if Dravid does not extend his tenure as the coach of Team India, then this responsibility can be handed over to Laxman.
