Sudan Civil War: The situation in Sudan remains critical. The security forces who once used to protect their country, today clashed with each other to occupy the same country. Till now about 200 people have lost their lives in this war. About 4,000 Indians live in Sudan, out of which more than 1,000 Indians have been settled there since decades ago. They are trapped in this civil war. But like every time, the Government of India is making efforts to evacuate Indians from there safely. The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with many countries. However, in the reports that are coming out so far, one Indian has died due to bullet injury.

Politics in the Sudan Case

In the case of Sudan, politics within the country has also intensified. Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah tweeted that 35 people from Karnataka are stranded in Sudan. In response to this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has given a befitting reply and advised not to do politics in this matter. Along with this, he has also been told that the government is working to bring its people out soon. However, he also told that now he cannot disclose how the government is working. Jaishankar told that the war is getting very fierce. In such a situation, their movement is not possible.

  • External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar himself has spoken to the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Both the countries have assured full help to India. This was the biggest mission ever. But India had called its people safely to India. India saved the lives of its people even during the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
  • The Government of India has set up a help center in the capital Delhi. Apart from this, Delhi is in constant contact with the Indian Embassy in Khartoum. India is getting every information. Information about the condition of the people of India is also being received there.
