Rajasthan Election: The political story of Rajasthan has become quite interesting amidst continuous speculation and suspense regarding the next role of former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Will they come back in lead roles or not? This has remained a big question for the last several months. Voting is taking place today on 199 out of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan, but there is political whispering on the next role of these two leaders. The most interesting thing in this election is that both the parties BJP and Congress have not revealed their CM face. Only after the results are declared on December 3, it will be known which party hands over the post of Chief Minister to whom.

Has the time come for Pilot to become CM?

Pilot, who comes from the Gurjar community, was the state president of Congress in 2018. After Congress got majority in the assembly elections, the tussle between Pilot and Gehlot for the post of Chief Minister started. Pilot was the biggest contender for the post of Chief Minister, but the Congress high command handed over the post of CM to Ashok Gehlot while Pilot was given the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Under the reconciliation agreement, the high command decided to make Pilot the CM for the last one year, but this was not possible due to the rebellion.

Gehlot has made this comment

After rebelling against Gehlot's leadership in July 2020, Pilot was removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and State President. It is a different matter that before this assembly elections, the party said that 'everything is fine' and both the leaders also said that the things of the past should be forgotten. The Gurjar community has influence in the districts of eastern Rajasthan where Congress won most of the seats in the last assembly elections. Congress not declaring the CM candidate and also Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot saying several times that he is not leaving the post, due to both these things it is believed that this time Sachin Pilot will not be able to get the benefit as he did in the past. He got it in 2018.

BJP also did not declare CM candidate

BJP has also not declared anyone as the chief ministerial candidate in this election. Prime Minister Modi himself has said in his initial election speeches in the state that the face of BJP in this election is 'lotus flower'. Modi had said this in a rally held in Chittaurgarh district in the month of October and Vasundhara Raje was also present in it. While Raje's supporters consider him to be the frontrunner in the race, the ruling Congress has been targeting the BJP for not declaring a chief ministerial candidate in the elections and terming it as internal strife of the BJP in the state. However, Raje has avoided making any public comment regarding this.

Will Vasundhara come back or will she be kept in isolation?

This time Vasundhara Raje has been seen missing from the election campaign and many meetings. He had also distanced himself from big demonstrations of BJP. On one hand, the supporters of Vasundhara Group are continuously demanding to declare her as the CM face, while on the other hand, the BJP leadership is repeatedly saying that this time the Rajasthan assembly elections will be fought on the face of PM Narendra Modi. Now once again there is discussion whether Vasundhara will return or she will be kept in isolation.

Will Gehlot remain the Chief Minister or will the command be handed over to Pilot?

Politics of Rajasthan has been in discussion for the last several months and a big question is being raised in the political circles that who will lead from the front? Will Gehlot remain the Chief Minister or some other new face will emerge or former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot will get a chance to lead the state. These are some questions which are currently echoing in the political circles. This time too it would not be wrong to say that Raje and Pilot are the points of discussion. A lot of drama, action, surprise, suspense, attack and counterattack is still to come.
