Haryana Election 2024: Assembly elections are to be held in Haryana on October 5. Before that, Haryana Congress has written a letter to the Election Commission against granting parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The letter states that Ram Rahim should not be given parole before voting in Haryana, as he can influence the voters. Ram Rahim's past history is a witness to the fact that he has a tremendous fan following in Haryana. He can use it, so he should not be given parole.

Parole approved with three conditions

Earlier, the Election Commission had approved Ram Rahim's parole on September 30. However, the commission has imposed three conditions. During the time of parole, Gurmeet Ram Rahim will be barred from entering Haryana. Gurmeet Ram Rahim cannot participate in any election campaign activities nor will he be involved in any election campaign activity through social media.

Serving sentence in sexual abuse-murder case

Ram Rahim is serving sentence in Rohtak jail in sexual abuse and murder case. During parole, Ram Rahim will stay in Barnawa Ashram in Uttar Pradesh. Dera Sacha Sauda chief is serving 20 years imprisonment in sexual abuse and murder case of sadhvis. He had recently sought emergency parole from the government. He applied to the jail department and asked for 20 days parole. During this time, he said that he would stay in Barnawa Ashram in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Ram Rahim came out on 21 days furlough in August.

Election campaign in final phase

Let us tell you that votes will be cast on all 90 seats of Haryana Assembly on October 5. Election preparations are now in the final phase.
