Kangana Ranaut News: A petition has been filed in the Himachal High Court against the membership of Bollywood actress and BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal, Kangana Ranaut. In this petition, a demand has been made to cancel Kangana's membership of Parliament. The High Court has issued a notice to Kangana on this petition. The High Court has asked Kangana to file her reply by August 21. Petitioner Layak Ram Negi has filed a petition against Kangana. In this, he has asked the court to cancel Kangana's election. Nayak is a former employee of the Forest Department. He got VRS ahead of time. Negi says that he wanted to contest the election but his nomination papers were wrongly rejected by the Election Officer of Mandi.

Kangana will have to answer by August 21

Negi argues that if his nomination papers were accepted, he would have won. In the petition, Layak Ram Negi has appealed to the court that Kangana's election should be canceled. He has demanded re-election on Mandi seat. On this petition of Negi, Justice Jyotsna Rewal has issued notice to Kangana and sought reply by August 21.

Negi further said that during the nomination, he was told that he would also have to provide no dues certificates for electricity, water and telephone issued for government accommodation. He was given time till the next day to give this certificate. The next day when he submitted the papers to the Returning Officer, he refused to take it and rejected the nomination.

Demand to cancel the election

Issuing notice, Justice Jyotsna Rewal directed Kangana Ranaut to file a reply by August 21. Ranaut won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat by defeating her nearest rival Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 74,755 votes. He got 5,37,002 votes as against Singh's 4,62,267 votes. Seeking cancellation of Ranaut's election, petitioner Layak Ram Negi said that his nomination papers were wrongly cancelled by the Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner, Mandi) and he has also been made a party.

What is the allegation in the petition?

Former Forest Department employee Layak Ram Negi said that he got premature retirement and submitted a no dues certificate from the department along with the nomination papers before the Election Officer. However, he was given a day's time to submit no dues certificates from the electricity, water and telephone departments and even when he submitted them, the Election Officer did not accept them and cancelled the nomination papers. He argued that if his papers had been accepted, he could have won the election and said that Kangana's election should be cancelled.

Kangana won by 74755 votes

Kangana won from Mandi in Himachal in the Lok Sabha elections. She defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by 74,755 votes. Bahujan Samajwadi Party's Dr Prakash Chandra Bhardwaj was at number three. Bhardwaj got 4393 votes.
