BJP on OP Rajbhar: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) President Om Prakash Rajbhar has fallen into his own trap. When Rajbhar walked out of the alliance with the SP after the 2022 assembly elections, he expected the BJP to welcome him with open arms. Rajbhar started his endless tirade against the Samajwadi Party leadership and termed Akhilesh Yadav as a drawing room politician. Even as he stepped up his attack on the SP, the BJP showed no sign of relenting towards Rajbhar. Rajbhar even said that the dominant OBC castes including Maurya, Patel, Lodh, Kori and Nishad, and upper castes including Rajput and Brahmins were all with the BJP and that these castes would not support the Samajwadi Party (SP) in any future elections .Rajbhar had praised the budgetThis comment of Rajbhar has come at a time when BJP and SP are attacking each other for OBC and Dalit votes. Rajbhar also praised the annual budget presented by the Yogi Adityanath government and termed it pro-poor. The BJP has still not responded to his proposals. A BJP functionary said, Om Prakash Rajbhar has proved to be an opportunistic ally. His statements are not restrained. We know that he wants a seat in the UP Legislative Council for his son Arvind Rajbhar, but the BJP is not ready for such a deal. Besides who wants an unreliable ally?BJP engaged in wooing the Rajbhar communityMeanwhile, the BJP, led by Uttar Pradesh minister Anil Rajbhar, is strengthening its leaders from the Rajbhar community and making inroads among the Rajbhars in various districts. Realizing that Om Prakash Rajbhar may be put on the backburner in the 2024 general elections, many SBSP leaders have started looking for better pastures. SBSP National Secretary Ramakant Kashyap, State Vice President CP Nishad and State General Secretary Vivek Sharma joined the Nishad party on Saturday. National President of Nishad Party Sanjay Nishad said, SBSP chief OP Rajbhar has deviated from the ideology of the party. People's sentiments have been hurt by the comments made by SBSP leaders against the Kashyap community. He further said that the doors of Nishad Party are open for all.SBSP doing politics of divisionRamakant Kashyap said, SBSP is doing divisive politics. We are the descendants of Maharishi Kashyap, who was a saint of the Vedic age. We cannot support those who insult our ancestors. Some disgruntled SBSP leaders, who spoke to IANS on the condition of anonymity, said, SBSP is now a party in name only. Om Prakash Rajbhar is more interested in taking his family forward in politics than taking the party forward. The party earned the ire of the OBCs because it did not support the SP on the Ramcharitmanas issue. We will soon opt for better opportunities in other parties as well. Meanwhile, Om Prakash Rajbhar claimed that some parties are trying to harass the SBSP. However, this will not work and the SBSP will emerge stronger in the Lok Sabha elections.
