What is the reason for resignation?

What were the results across the country?

The Election Commission of India has released the final results for all 543 constituencies of the Lok Sabha, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party has been declared victorious on 240 seats and Congress on 99 seats. Let us tell you that there are 543 members in the Lok Sabha, but after BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal from Surat was elected unopposed, counting of votes was done for 542 seats.

According to the final results released on Wednesday, NDA has crossed the majority mark and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. BJP candidates contested the elections in the name of Modi this time too, but the party could win only 240 seats which is less than the figure of 272 seats required for majority. In such a situation, BJP needs the support of NDA allies to form the government.
