PM Modi Italy Visit: After taking oath as PM for the third time on June 9, Narendra Modi will go to Italy on his first foreign visit. Prime Minister Modi has accepted the invitation of Italian PM Georgia Meloni to attend the G7 summit. The summit of G7 countries will be held in Italy from June 13 to 15. According to media reports, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Modi spoke to Italian PM Meloni on Thursday and thanked him for the invitation to the outreach session of the G7 summit to be held in Puglia, Italy.

Italy is chairing the G7

Let us tell you that this year Italy has got the presidency of the G7. This summit will focus on important issues like the global economic scenario, international trade, climate change and the effects of the conflict between Russia-Ukraine war, Israel and Hamas.

The G7 countries include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US, with the European Union participating in the discussion as a guest. During his visit, PM Modi will meet the US President and other G7 leaders.

India busy diplomatic schedule

According to media reports, India's diplomatic schedule is going to be very busy after the swearing-in ceremony is over. Before the G-7, the Foreign Minister will attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers' meeting in Russia on June 11 to prepare for the BRICS summit in October.

The Indian Prime Minister will host Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the last week of June, followed by the SCO summit in Kazakhstan in July, where he may meet Chinese President Xi Jinping after the election.

Ukraine hopes India will attend peace summit

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his election victory, has urged New Delhi to attend the upcoming peace summit.

Zelensky highlighted India's important role in global affairs and the importance of collective efforts to achieve lasting peace. Prime Minister Modi, in response, reaffirmed India's commitment to advocating global peace.

It is, however, unclear whether PM Modi will attend the Ukraine peace summit scheduled to be held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. In March, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited New Delhi and met Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. During their talks, Kuleba reiterated India's request to attend the peace summit and emphasised the important role India could play. However, Jaishankar did not comment publicly on Kuleba's appeal, leaving India's position on the matter unclear.
