West Bengal State University: Mamta government has taken a big decision in West Bengal. In Bengal, now instead of the governor, the chief minister himself will be the chancellor. This has been announced by West Bengal Minister Bratya Basu.

Bill will be introduced in the Legislative Assembly

West Bengal minister Bratya Basu announced that today we have decided that all government universities will have the chief minister as the chancellor, not the governor. A bill will be introduced in the Legislative Assembly to amend this law.

Governor had made appointments without asking

It is worth noting that recently, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was accused of appointing several vice-chancellors without the consent of the state government.
