Delhi CM Atishi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday made a shocking claim and accused the central government of conspiring to weaken democracy. In this press conference held before the assembly elections, she said that the central government is pressurizing government officials to remove the names of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) voters from the voter list in Delhi.

Serious allegations against the Center

Chief Minister Atishi said, "The central government is conspiring to end the democratic rights of the people of Delhi. Government officials have been ordered to remove the names of 'AAP' supporters. All this work is being done in a phased manner, in which 29 SDMs and ADMs of Delhi have been transferred as the first move."

Claim of cutting votes

In the press conference, Atishi said that the officials have been given the responsibility of cutting a large number of votes. She said, "A DM has handed over a list of 20,000 voters to each of his Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and said that the names of 'AAP' voters have to be removed. This work is being done directly at the behest of BJP, because BJP knows that it is going to lose the election.”

Allegations of pressure on BLOs

The CM also claimed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been ordered not to add new voters nor retain AAP voters in the voting list. She said, “BLOs have been told to work on the basis of the list given by the BJP party and delete the names of AAP supporters. This is a direct attack on democracy.”

Appeal to officials

Atishi appealed to the Delhi government officials to oppose such illegal orders. She said, “If any officer asks you to delete votes or stops you from adding new voters, then record them and send them to me. I assure that strict action will be taken against them.”

Eye on BJP's response

However, there has been no response from BJP on these allegations so far. If this controversy escalates, it can further heat up the political atmosphere of Delhi.

Conclusion

The allegations of Chief Minister Atishi have created a stir in Delhi politics. If there is truth in these claims, then it is a serious challenge to the democratic process. It will be interesting to see in the coming days how the BJP responds to these allegations and what impact it has on election preparations.
