Republic Day 2025: This Sunday, India is going to celebrate its 76th Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Special preparations have been made across the country for this historic occasion. Especially the capital Delhi is under a tight security cover this time. According to DCP New Delhi Devesh Mahala, no scope has been left for any kind of lapse in security.

Multi-layer security: Even a bird will not be able to fly

A 6-layer multi-layer security ring has been prepared in New Delhi for the Republic Day celebrations. More than 15,000 policemen will be deployed around the duty path. More than 7,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the security system, out of which more than 1,000 cameras will specifically monitor the parade route. Face Recognition System (FRS) has been installed in these cameras, which is capable of identifying suspected criminals.

DCP Mahla said, "Every person will have to pass through the eyes of high definition cameras. If someone's face matches the database, an alarm will ring immediately and security personnel will be alerted." Along with this, control rooms have been set up at different locations, from where every activity will be monitored.

Delhi Police's X handle and advisory

For the people coming to watch the Republic Day parade, Delhi Police has issued many important advisories on the X (formerly Twitter) handle. These include information about traffic plans and metro routes. DCP Mahla appealed, "Follow the prescribed route to reach Kartavya Path. People coming from the south should use Udyog Bhawan Metro Station and those coming from the north should use Janpath or Central Secretariat Metro Station."

Appeal to the public for cooperation

The DCP said that this time about one lakh people will gather on Kartavya Path to watch the parade. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the police in security procedures and not to bring any prohibited item with them. "Your safety is our priority. So bear with us for a little inconvenience," he said.
