Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday instructed the Assembly that there has been no foundation for the allegation that the authorities had plans to assemble a Kalaignar Memorial Library at the premises in Madurai, in which Colonel John Pennycuick, the architect of Mullaperiyar Dam had lived.


Responding to former minister and AIADMK member Sellur K. Raju, who alleged that the authorities had determined to demolish the memorial, the Chief Minister stated a misguided marketing campaign changed into being carried out, which had now reached the Assembly.


“The Minister of Public Works Department ( PWD) has already clarified this issue. If there's any foundation to this allegation, we're geared up to alternate it. I am making this assertion due to the fact incorrect facts ought to now no longer be recorded withinside the Assembly,” he stated.
