Dhananjay's wife Shrikala had filed her nomination as a BSP candidate, but later the party declared its candidate Shyam Singh Yadav as its candidate. Dhananjay Singh himself is not contesting the elections because the court has sentenced him to 7 years in jail in a kidnapping and extortion case. At present he is out of jail on bail.

BJP will get strength in Purvanchal

This step of Dhananjay Singh can give political benefit to BJP not only in Jaunpur but in entire Purvanchal. Dhananjay Singh comes from Thakur caste and also has a good influence and influence in the society. BJP has made Kripashankar Singh its candidate from Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat. Whereas, Samajwadi Party has given ticket to Babu Singh Kushwaha. Elections on this seat are to be held in the sixth phase on May 25.

Appeal to vote for BJP considering public sentiments

Dhananjay Singh has said that considering the public sentiments, you people should vote and support the BJP party. We fight for the people, that is why cases are filed against us. We have to fight for the poor and the people. In the 2002 elections, we had gone to almost all the political parties for tickets, but no one gave us the ticket.

He further said that in that election we decided that we will contest the elections. How far have we traveled in politics? We contested elections and won also. The people here have lifted us from their shoulders and sent us to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Despite all the difficulties, we have been winning the elections. We have not done party and caste politics.

Issues are getting worse in the country: Dhananjay
