Food and Public Distribution Department and CSC have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ration card services through 3.7 lakh Common Service Centers in the country.Now ration card related services will also be available in more than 3.7 lakh Common Service Centers (CSC-Common Service Centers) across the country. These services include applying for a new ration card, updating details and linking it with Aadhaar. This step will directly benefit 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country.
The Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has tied up with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a specialized unit under the Ministry of Electronics and IT. The main objective of this agreement is to harmonize the supply of ration in semi-urban and rural areas and strengthen the public distribution system.
23.64 crore ration card holders across the country will benefit
Food and Public Distribution Department and CSC have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ration card services through 3.7 lakh Common Service Centers in the country. It has been said in the statement that this partnership will directly benefit 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country. Ration card holders will now be able to update their ration card details by visiting their nearest CSC center. Apart from this, ration card holders will also be able to get a duplicate copy of their card, link the card with Aadhaar, get information about the availability of ration and can also register their complaint. Not only this, if the existing ration card holders want to apply for a new ration card, then they will also be able to apply by visiting the nearest CSC.

Dinesh Tyagi, Managing Director, CSC e-Governance Services India said, “With our partnership with the Department of Food and Public Distribution, our Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) operating CSCs will be able to reach out to people who do not have ration cards.
