Telangana News: Hyderabad, one of the busiest metros of the country, is no longer the joint capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, from June 2, Hyderabad will now be the capital of Telangana only. Let us tell you that at the time of division of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, Hyderabad was made the joint capital of both the states for 10 years. During this time, Telangana came into existence on June 2, 2014. Hyderabad is present in Telangana. In such a situation, now after not being the capital of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad will remain the capital of Telangana only. It was a joint capital for ten years

In fact, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act states that "Hyderabad in the existing Andhra Pradesh state will be the joint capital of the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh for a period of 10 years from the appointed date (2 June)." It states that "after the expiry of the period specified in sub-section (1), Hyderabad will be the capital of the State of Telangana and there will be a new capital for the State of Andhra Pradesh." At the same time, the state of Telangana was formed on 2 June 2014 after the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill was passed in Parliament in February 2014. The demand for the formation of Telangana state was being made for decades.

Telangana occupies government buildings

Let us tell you that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had last month asked the officials to take possession of buildings like the Government Guest House Lake View in Hyderabad after June 2, which were given to Andhra Pradesh for a period of 10 years. In fact, even ten years after the division, many issues like division of assets between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are still unresolved. Meanwhile, the Telangana government had sought to discuss issues related to the division in a cabinet meeting, but it could not happen. The Election Commission did not approve it amid the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.
