Independence Day 2024: On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, PM Modi gave a speech of more than 100 minutes. During this, he discussed every important topic. He enumerated the achievements of his government and also put forward the roadmap for the coming years in front of the country. During this, he talked about being positive and optimistic for developed India and prosperity of the country. He praised the performance of Indian players in the Olympics and also expressed hope for hosting the 2036 Olympics.

PM Modi said that India hosted the meeting of G20 countries. More than 200 programs were conducted. This has proved one thing that India has the ability to organize the biggest event. There is no answer to India's hosting in the whole world. In such a situation, India is preparing to host the 2036 Olympics.

Invitation to the Olympic team in the Independence Day program

PM Modi hoisted the flag at the Red Fort for the 11th time. During this, 6000 special guests were present. This also included the players included in the Olympic team of India. Apart from this, students benefiting from Atal Innovation Mission and PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme, and volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and National Service Scheme under 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' also attended the program. The guests also included tribal artisans/Van Dhan Vikas members and tribal entrepreneurs funded by National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation. Apart from these, beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and representatives of farmer producer organizations were also present at the Red Fort.

India's performance in 2024 Olympics

A team of 117 Indian athletes participated in the Olympics 2024 at the Paris Olympics. The Indian contingent finished 71st in the medal tally with 6 medals, including one silver medal and five bronze medals. Manu Bhaker won India's first medal at these games, earning bronze and becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal in Olympic shooting. She then created history by becoming the first Indian to win two medals in the same Olympic edition with another bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol with Sarabjot Singh. Her medal with Sarabjot was also the country's first team medal in shooting.

Swapnil Kusale won the third medal in shooting, India's biggest haul in the sport at a single Olympics. It was India's first medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions. The Indian men's hockey team replicated their Tokyo 2020 success by securing bronze in Paris. Neeraj Chopra further extended his Olympic legacy by winning a silver medal in javelin throw and became India's most successful individual Olympian. Aman Sehrawat added to the medal tally by becoming India's youngest Olympic medallist by winning a bronze medal in wrestling.
