Actually, the Aam Aadmi Party was looking for a place for its leader which would not only be convenient for his work but he would also have no problem in traveling and could stay connected with every corner of the city and its residents.

Earlier also, the party had said in a statement that Arvind Kejriwal will soon vacate the Chief Minister's residence and his new residence is being searched. Kejriwal is looking for a house near the New Delhi assembly constituency because he wants to stay connected with the people there. The party said that with just a few months left for the Delhi Assembly elections, the National Convenor of AAP is seriously focusing on finding such a house which will allow him to make full use of his time and resources.

The party had said that apart from AAP MLAs, councillors, workers, common people belonging to various social, economic and political backgrounds are also offering accommodation to former CM Kejriwal. Many areas of the city including Defence Colony, Pitampura, Jorbagh, Chanakyapuri, Greater Kailash, Vasant Vihar and Hauz Khas offered accommodation to Kejriwal, but Kejriwal said that he would live in a place from where he could meet the people of his constituency.

AAP had demanded from the central government that Kejriwal should be provided official accommodation as he is the head of a national party. Kejriwal lives with his wife, children and elderly parents. Before joining politics, Kejriwal lived in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. In 2013, he became the CM of Delhi for the first time and then he lived in a bungalow in Tilak Lane. After becoming the CM of Delhi for the second time in 2015, he started living in a residence located on Flagstaff Road.
