Mahadev Betting App: A new domain has been released by Mahadev Book. He has said that whoever bets, their old ID and password will remain the same as before. Only the domain of the website has been changed.

22 illegal betting apps were banned on Sunday

It was reported on Sunday that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has issued orders to block 22 illegal betting apps and websites including Mahadev App.

The action follows the investigation conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against the illegal betting app syndicate and the subsequent raid on Mahadev Book in Chhattisgarh, which has revealed the illegal operations of the app.

The owners of Mahadev Book are currently in custody, having been arrested under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for the offense of money laundering, which is punishable under Section 4 of the PMLA, 2002.

Action taken on ED's request

The Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Electronics and Information Technology said, "Chhattisgarh government had full power to recommend closure of the website/app under Section 69A of the IT Act. However, they did not do so and No requests made." In fact, this is the first and only request from the ED that has been received and processed. No one stopped the Chhattisgarh government from making similar requests.
