This information has come to light in the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). This standard of living of Mamata Banerjee reflects the unique feature of her personality, which is different from the general practice of money and influence in politics.

Chief Ministers of India: Big difference in assets

According to the ADR report, the average assets of the Chief Ministers of the country is Rs 52.59 crore. While Mamata Banerjee is at the bottom of the list with the minimum assets, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is the richest Chief Minister with assets of more than Rs 931 crore.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is in second place with assets of more than Rs 332 crore. At the same time, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is in third place with assets of more than Rs 51 crore.

List of poor CMs

After Mamata Banerjee, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah (Rs 55 lakh) and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan (Rs 1.18 crore) are the second and third CMs with the least assets respectively. However, some of these CMs also have liabilities. For example, Pema Khandu has liabilities of Rs 180 crore, while Siddaramaiah has liabilities of Rs 23 crore and Naidu has liabilities of over Rs 10 crore.

Status of women CMs

There are currently only two women CMs in the country—West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. While Mamata Banerjee is known for her simple lifestyle, Atishi, 38, is the youngest CM in the country. In contrast, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the oldest CM in the country at the age of 77.

Criminal cases data

According to the report, 13 out of 31 chief ministers (42%) have declared criminal cases against themselves. Of these, 10 chief ministers (32%) have serious criminal cases registered against them, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and bribery.
