Manoj Kumar Singh: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the year 1988 batch, Manoj Kumar Singh, took charge as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. This information was given in an official statement. Manoj Kumar Singh, who is currently discharging the responsibility of important posts like Agriculture Production Commissioner and Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner of the state as well as Additional Chief Secretary Panchayati Raj, has taken over as Chief Secretary in place of Durga Shankar Mishra. Singh, who has discharged various important administrative responsibilities including District Magistrate of districts like Lalitpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Pilibhit, Moradabad and Aligarh and Divisional Commissioner of Moradabad, is considered a prominent face of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's team.

Durga Shankar Mishra retired

Earlier, 1984 batch IAS officer Durga Shankar Mishra was made the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh on 30 December 2021. Before retiring in December 2021, the central government gave him an extension of service and entrusted him with the responsibility of Chief Secretary of the state and since then he was continuously performing this responsibility on extension. The official statement said that after becoming the Chief Minister in 2017, Yogi Adityanath first identified some such officers in the bureaucracy, who have experience and efficiency, along with integrity, also have vigor and combativeness towards work.

IAS Manoj Kumar Singh is one such important member of 'Team Yogi', who has taken charge as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh today. According to the website of the Appointment Department, Manoj Kumar Singh was born on 25 July 1965. On this basis, Singh's tenure will be till 31 July 2025. Let us tell you that before this, Durga Shankar Mishra has got extension of service thrice. This time he did not get extension and he retired today. In his place, Manoj Kumar Singh has now taken over as Chief Secretary.
