Independent MP Navneet Rana's name is in the news a lot these days due to Hanuman Chalisa controversy. Recently he has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In this letter, he has made many allegations against the Uddhav government and Maharashtra Police. Navneet Rana wrote in this letter that I was taken to the police station on 23rd. On 23 April, I had to spend the whole night in the police station itself. I asked for water several times during the night, but I was not given water throughout the night.'I am SC, that's why discrimination happened'Navneet further alleged that the police staff present on the spot said that I belong to Scheduled Caste (SC), so they cannot give me water in the same glass in which they drink. Meaning I was not even given water to drink because of my caste. I want to emphasize that because of my caste, I have been denied basic human rights. Not even allowed to use toiletMaking all the serious allegations, Navneet said, I had to go to the bathroom at night, but the police staff did not pay any attention to my demand. Then I was abused. The police said that they (police staff) do not allow the lower caste people to use their bathroom.Hanuman Chalisa tried at CM residenceNavneet Rana further wrote in the letter, "It is my true belief that the Shiv Sena under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray completely deviated from its clear Hindutva principles for obvious reasons as it wanted to betray the public mandate and ally with the Congress-NCP for the elections." Wanted to form an alliance later. With the genuine hope of rekindling the Hindutva flame in Shiv Sena, I had announced that I would go to the chief minister's residence and chant 'Hanuman Chalisa' outside his residence Matoshree. It was not meant to incite any religious tension. I had invited CM Uddhav Thackeray to attend the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. My move was not against the CM. But I was accused that my move could endanger the law and order in Mumbai. After this I also said that I will not go to the CM residence.
