UP Congress: The Congress party has been out of power in Uttar Pradesh for the last three and a half decades, but after winning 99 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the party's spirits are high. This success has given new enthusiasm and confidence to the Congress, under which the party has now decided to completely overhaul the UP organization.

The Congress has decided to revisit the list of district and city presidents and remove those leaders who are not active. The party aims to prepare the UP organization for the 2027 assembly elections and make it more effective.

New leadership under the direction of Priyanka Gandhi

Six national secretaries considered close to Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi have been reassigned to the responsibility of UP. These include Dheeraj Gurjar, Rajesh Tiwari, Tauqeer Alam, Pradeep Narwal, Neelanshu Chaturvedi and Satyanarayan Patel. Under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi, these secretaries have played important roles in UP earlier as well, and now their task will once again be to groom the organization of Uttar Pradesh.

Recently, a meeting of top Congress leaders was held in Delhi, in which the party planned to reorganize the UP organization. In this meeting, it was decided that the district and city presidents who did not show activeness would be removed and new and capable leaders would be given responsibility in their place.

Strategic reorganization and by-elections

The Congress has decided that the process of organizational change will be completed in 10 to 15 days. In the meeting to be held in Delhi on Saturday, there will be in-depth discussion on the process of change in the UP organization. In this meeting, the strategy of by-elections will also be discussed, so that the party's position can be strengthened in the upcoming elections.

Appointment of Minority President

The Congress has also made a new strategy for the minority community. Former Minority State President Shahnawaz Alam has been made the National Secretary and given the charge of Bihar, which requires the appointment of a new Minority President in UP. This time the Congress may possibly consider appointing three to four presidents instead of one, so that effective representation of minority voters can be ensured.

Future direction

The 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh can prove to be an important opportunity for the Congress. The party has already started making its strategy in this direction. It will be seen how quickly the Congress implements its organizational changes and how it appoints new presidents.

This is the time of reconstruction and organizational change for the Congress. The party is trying to regain its lost ground in UP and play a strong opposition role in the upcoming elections. Now it will be interesting to see how successful the Congress is in its mission of change and whether it is able to regain its lost credibility in UP.
