Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on January 8-9. Will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam, including a green hydrogen hub and bulk drug park. Will inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Bhubaneswar and flag off the Pravasi Bharatiya Express train.

PM Narendra Modi News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha from today, Wednesday, January 8. The main objective of this visit is to start large-scale development projects in these states and strengthen dialogue with the NRIs.

Gift of development projects in Visakhapatnam

The Prime Minister will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam on the evening of January 8. These projects include the Green Hydrogen Hub set up by NTPC Green Energy Limited. This hub will be the first green hydrogen hub to be built under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, with an investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore.

Apart from this, PM Modi will also inaugurate railway and road projects to be built in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs 19,500 crore. Among these, laying the foundation stone of South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam is an important step.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh and Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) under Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor in Tirupati district. This industrial area is expected to generate an investment of about Rs 10,500 crore and more than 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference in Bhubaneswar

On January 9, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. The conference will be held from 8 to 10 January 2025 and will be attended by NRIs from more than 50 countries.

The objective of this program is to promote dialogue and cooperation between the NRIs and the countrymen. The conference is being organized in partnership between the Government of India and the State Government of Odisha.

The Prime Minister will flag off a special tourist train called Pravasi Bharatiya Express. This train has been designed to provide NRIs a three-week tour of historical and religious places in India. Its first journey will start from Nizamuddin Railway Station.

A symbol of India's development and dialogue with the Indian diaspora

This visit of Prime Minister Modi is a symbol of development projects and engagement with the international Indian community. Economic development in the country will be accelerated through green hydrogen hubs, industrial corridors, railways and road projects. Also, this is an important step towards further strengthening India's image at the global level through the Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan.
