Satyendra Jain Bail: Former Delhi government minister Satyendra Jain has got bail from the Rouse Avenue Court in the money laundering case after 18 months in jail. While granting bail, the court has also given some conditions to Jain, under which he will have to pay a bond of Rs 50,000. Along with this, Jain cannot contact any witness and cannot go out of the country. This bail decision is considered a big relief for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Let us know what are the allegations against Satyendra Jain and how this case progressed.

What are the allegations against Satyendra Jain?

Satyendra Jain is accused of creating several fake companies in 2009-10 and 2010-11 and using them for money laundering. These companies include companies like Akinchhan Developers Private Limited, Indo Metal Impex Private Limited, Prayas Info Solutions Private Limited, and Mangalayatan Projects Private Limited. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has accused Jain of embezzling huge amounts of money through these companies.

List of other accused in the case

Apart from Satyendra Jain, the ED has also made many other people accused in this case. These include his wife Poonam Jain, Ajit Prasad Jain, Sunil Kumar Jain, Vaibhav Jain, and Ankush Jain. Along with this, M/s Akinchhan Developers Private Limited, Prayas Info Solutions Private Limited, Mangalayatan Projects Private Limited and JJ Ideal Estate Private Limited have also been named in this case.

Opposition to ED arrest and bail plea

The ED arrested Satyendra Jain on 30 May 2022 on charges of money laundering. He was accused of transacting illegal money through four fake companies. The ED opposed the bail plea, claiming that Jain could influence the witnesses if he was released. The case came to light after an FIR registered by the CBI under the Prevention of Corruption Act in 2017.

Aam Aadmi Party's reaction

There is a festive atmosphere in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after Satyendra Jain got bail. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave his reaction on social media and said, "Satyendra Jain's only fault was that he built Mohalla clinics and started free treatment for all the people of Delhi." He further said that this whole matter is a part of political vendetta and Jain was put in jail by implicating him on false charges. Kejriwal expressed gratitude to the judiciary and said that "the judiciary supported the truth."

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also called it an example of "Satyamev Jayate" and said that "another victory against dictatorship" has been achieved. He alleged that Satyendra Jain was kept in jail without any concrete evidence and the judiciary supported truth and justice.

Situation after bail

Satyendra Jain's bail has not only given relief to the Aam Aadmi Party, but its far-reaching effects can also be seen on the political scene. With Jain's release, a new enthusiasm is being seen within the party. Party leaders believe that the case was part of the harassment against opposition leaders by the Modi government, and now Jain's release has strengthened their allegations.

Satyendra Jain's case and his release have brought a new twist in Delhi politics, where opposition parties are seeing it as a political struggle and a judicial victory.
