Amit Shah News: In a historic move, Home Minister Amit Shah today launched the Citizen Registration System (CRS) app at Census Bhawan, which will make the process of registration of birth and death very simple and smooth. This app will eliminate the need for people to go to government offices and stand in long queues, saving time and resources.How will the CRS app work?According to Census India 2021, birth and death registration can now be done from home through this app. Information has to be entered on the app within 21 days of any birth or death incident. Some nominal charges have been fixed for not getting registered within this period: Rs 2 will have to be paid for a delay of 22-30 days, Rs 5 from 31 days to one year and Rs 10 for a certificate older than one year.Amit Shah's statement and benefitsHome Minister Amit Shah described this app as a new and accessible tool for citizens, which will not only make it easier to register births and deaths, but will also ensure that registration can be done in any state language of the country and at any time. At present, no information has been shared on the demand of opposition parties as to what steps the government will take on this.
