Haryana Politics: After the withdrawal of support from BJP government by three independent MLAs in Haryana, political rhetoric has intensified in the state. While Congress is demanding the resignation of CM Nayab Saini from the BJP government on moral grounds, former CM Manohar Lal Khattar has claimed that some MLAs are in touch with him. Meanwhile, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that the Assembly currently does not have information about three independent MLAs withdrawing support from the government. The decision whether the government is in minority or majority is taken in the House.

The speaker said this

He said that the decision on minority is taken by the Governor. Till now the Assembly has not received any information from the Governor. Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that the floor test of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was conducted on March 12. In which all the MLAs except Congress MLAs and INLD MLA supported BJP. At that time, BJP had 40 MLAs in the Assembly, 30 Congress, 10 JJP, 6 Independents, 1 HLP and 1 MLA from INLD. Then Naib Singh Saini had proved his majority.

The speaker cited this rule

Giving information about the tradition of the Assembly, Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that in any government, the floor test is not conducted again within six months of proving the majority. In the case of three independent MLAs, if the Governor takes any decision about taking supporters of the MLAs, then after this the government contender has to give information about minority or majority in the Assembly House. He said that there are 88 MLAs in the assembly and BJP has absolute majority.
