UP / The government is preparing to give free gas cylinders on Holi, scooty for meritorious girl students and also churning for free travel for elderly women

The bureaucracy of Uttar Pradesh has started preparations to implement the promises made to the public in the second innings of the Yogi government. After the picture of the formation of the new government was clear, Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra held a meeting with the senior officials of the government. In this, according to the election promise, the first free LPG cylinder will be given to all the eligible beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala scheme on Holi, arrangements for free travel in public transport for women above 60 years of age and scooty to meritorious girl students. Action was discussed.

A senior official involved in the meeting said that the Chief Secretary has studied each point of the resolution letter and directed its implementation by fixing the timeline. Such points of the resolution letter are to be identified on which work is to be started immediately. Apart from this, it has been asked to mark such points on which work is to be started in the next one month. There will be a separate list of points on which work can be started after some time.

The official said that the BJP has promised two free LPG cylinders on Holi and Deepawali to all the beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana in its manifesto. The first Holi is falling on March 17-18 after the Yogi government's return with a thumping mandate. In such a situation, instructions were given to prepare immediately for the implementation of this promise. About 1 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries have been reported in the state. It is estimated that about Rs 1000 crore will be spent on this. The decision on when this should be given will be taken in consultation with the Chief Minister.

Similarly, the BJP has promised free travel arrangements in public transport for women of 60 years. The Transport Department has been asked to prepare a proposal in this regard. Apart from this, there is a promise to distribute free scooties under the Rani Laxmibai Yojana to make the meritorious college going girl students self-reliant. For this, by fixing the definition of meritorious, instructions were given for preparation in this regard. Similarly, other points of the resolution letter were also discussed.
