New Delhi: People often cross the railway tracks on railway platforms and rail tracks, violating the rules and ignoring the information. Often the reason for this is said to save time by skipping long routes. Many people cross the railway track while listening to songs by putting the leads of mobile phones in their ears, due to which they lose their lives in the accident. In a similar case, a fatal accident was averted due to the understanding of the Loco Pilot of the Railways.
Mumbai's Kalyan IncidentThese developments came to the fore in Kalyan, Mumbai where the life of a 70-year-old man was saved. These elderly people were crossing the tracks of the train and going from one platform to another and suddenly fell on the track after getting dizzy. Meanwhile, the Mumbai-Varanasi train came from the front and he got stuck in the front part of the engine. However, seeing the elderly man fall, the train's loco pilot applied the brakes at the right time and his life was saved.

After this incident, the Railway Ministry has tweeted, advising to avoid crossing the tracks in such an unauthorized manner, calling it a fatal step. According to the Central Railway, the incident happened at around 12.45 pm on Sunday. The train was proceeding from platform number of Kalyan railway station in Thane district. The speed of the train was under control and the head of the loco pilot SK was also very alert, so the old man could be saved. Who has been identified as Hari Shankar.Alert Loco Pilots of Mumbai-Varanasi train (02193) applied emergency brakes immediately after starting the train from Kalyan station & saved the life of a senior citizen who was crossing tracks.
