New Delhi : Trinamool Congress MLA Idris Ali has taken a jibe at Prime Minister Modi. He has said that PM Modi will also have to face Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa-like situation one day. Significantly, amidst the deteriorating economic situation in Sri Lanka, he had to leave his office and run away. The anger of the public here has become very agitated and on Saturday, people reached the President's residence demanding his resignation. During this, people raised slogans of Gota Go Home, later the protesters set fire to the private residence of Prime Minister Vikram Ranalsinghe.

TMC is angry about this

Actually, there is a special reason for the anger of TMC MLA Idris. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not been invited to the Sealdah Metro station inauguration program in Kolkata. This program is going to be held tomorrow i.e. on 11th July. Union Minister Smriti Irani is going to inaugurate this project. According to India Today, Idris Ali said that not inviting Mamta Banerjee to this program is in a way an insult to this project. He said that he had started this project while being the Railway Minister. Notably, no person from the state government has been invited to this program.

accusations between the two

Even before this, Mamata Banerjee was not invited to a program presided over by Home Minister Amit Shah at Victoria Memorial. Then TMC had accused the central government of doing politics of division in this matter. However, then the BJP retaliated and said that this tradition has been started by TMC itself. He had alleged that TMC does not invite BJP MPs and MLAs to state government functions.
