Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh: Wrestling legends Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia have joined the Congress in the run-up to the Haryana assembly elections. Reacting to this political development, former BJP MP and former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has made serious allegations. He has claimed that the wrestlers' agitation was a political conspiracy and Congress, Deepender Hooda, and Bhupinder Hooda were involved in it.

Allegations of conspiracy

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that about two years ago, when the wrestlers started protesting, he had already called it a political conspiracy. According to him, this movement was a scripted drama rather than a sportsperson's, aimed at political gain for the Congress. Singh also alleged that the Congress was part of this entire script, and now it has become clear that the Congress was involved in this drama.

BJP's stand and Brij Bhushan's defense

Singh also questioned the BJP's stand, claiming that the BJP never opposed him. He said that if the BJP was against him, the FIR would not have been filed or the chargesheet would not have been filed. According to him, he was not at the spot on the day of the allegations, yet he was chargesheeted.

Setback in Delhi High Court

Recently, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has got a big setback from the Delhi High Court. He had filed a petition to quash the FIR, chargesheet and the lower court's order of framing of charges, but he did not get relief. The Delhi High Court has asked Brijbhushan to submit a short note in the matter, and has questioned the maintainability of the petition. The next hearing of the case will be on September 26. The court asked Brijbhushan why he came after the charge was framed, due to which his petition was dismissed.

Conclusion

The entry of Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia into the Congress has brought a new twist to Haryana electoral politics. Brijbhushan Sharan Singh's allegations and legal challenges against him are making the issue even more complicated. It will be interesting to see what impact these developments have on the electoral scenario and whether the Congress will gain anything from this change.
