Haryana Election 2024 / Why is BJP delaying in announcing candidates in Haryana?

BJP's Central Election Committee meetings were held for Jammu and Kashmir on August 25 and for Haryana on August 29. The list of candidates for Kashmir was released within 12 hours, while the list for Haryana is yet to come. Reasons like the seat of the Chief Minister, nomination date, Amit Shah's rally, and rebellion may be responsible for the delay. Elections in Haryana will be held on October 1 and the results

Haryana Election 2024: On August 25, the BJP's Central Election Committee met in Delhi, in which the candidates for Jammu and Kashmir were decided and the list was released immediately. After this, a meeting was also held on Haryana on August 29, but the list of candidates has not been released yet. Assembly elections in Haryana are to be held on October 1 and the results will be declared on October 4. There are many reasons for this delay:

Chief Minister's seat: Chief Minister Naib Saini's Karnal seat is being discussed. Saini had earlier talked about contesting from Ladwa, but now he will contest from Karnal itself, due to which the party's position cannot be decided accurately.

Nomination date: Nominations will start in Haryana from September 5. Unlike Kashmir, BJP has not released the list due to time.

Amit Shah's rally: Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a rally in Jind on September 1. The party wants to avoid negative news from the list of candidates before the rally.

Rebellion in the party: Rebellion has started even before the announcement of candidates for Fatehabad and Rohtak seats.

Close fight: The electoral contest is tough in Haryana, where BJP had to face a close fight in the Lok Sabha elections as well.

BJP had demanded to extend the election date, but the Election Commission rejected it.
