Rajasthan: Congress' Rajasthan unit president Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday made it clear that the party will not field its candidate from the state in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Targeting the BJP, he said that the Congress believes in democracy and does not indulge in horse-trading of elected representatives like the BJP.

Dotasra said that the BJP has an absolute majority for the Rajya Sabha, so whoever they make a candidate, will be elected unopposed. The Congress' stand is clear that it believes in democracy and not in brokerage.

Dotasra accused the central government and said that the Constitution, democracy and reservation in the country are in danger. He said that there is a civil war-like situation in the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy in foreign trips. He also alleged that the central government is misusing central agencies to remain in power.

On the issue of reservation, Dotasra said that the Congress will not allow any tampering with the reservation and will oppose any attempt to weaken it. He also expressed concern over the law and order situation in the state, claiming that crimes like rape and murder are increasing in the state.
