This area is located in the Jaisalmer district on the India-Pakistan border in western Rajasthan. The Shahgarh area is quite large in size, about 125 to 250 km from the Jaisalmer district headquarters. Spread over an area of hundreds of kilometers, a population of about 10 thousand people resides in this area. But the corona pandemic has not even knocked here. So far this area has been completely safe from this epidemic. You will also be surprised to know the reason behind this. The residents of this area have naturally been following the guidelines set by the governments for the prevention of corona during this period. In its second wave, Corona had spread its footprint to 203 out of 206 gram panchayats of the border Jaisalmer district, but it could not reach Shahgarh and Harnau and Mandhala, two other gram panchayats carved out of it last year. Apart from its geographical conditions, this sandy area is also famous for the mutual brotherhood of its residents. The main reason for not reaching Corona to these villagers, who are located hundreds of km away from the district headquarters, is the lack of contact with outsiders. Two dozen gram panchayats in the district are included in the border area. But the administration also does not tire of appreciating the lifestyle of the villagers when only three gram panchayats of them survive the corona.Jaisalmer Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Narayan Singh Charan said that in the second wave of corona, cases of infection were reported in the cities and towns of the district as well as in the villages. In such a situation, three gram panchayats of Shahgarh area have emerged as an example. The residents of this border area should be praised for staying away from Corona. Wherever these people's homes are far and wide. At the same time, these people do not roam around unnecessarily. The people of this area have a different world. The people here have very little contact with outsiders. A population of about ten thousand lives in the Shahgarh area, situated on the international border from Ghotaru to Murar and Mandhala to Janiya village. The villagers who mainly do animal husbandry do not have much contact with the outside world. Selected people come to the market of Sam, Ramgarh or Jaisalmer to get essential goods. They also bring with them shopping for others.
