Coronavirus US Variant XBB 1.5 : Once again the danger of corona seems to be increasing in Jaipur. A patient of a new variant of Corona has been found here. The patient is said to be infected with Omicron's new sub-variant XBB 1.5. This variant of Corona is from America. This is said to be the fastest spreading variant ever. Its speed is 104 times faster than the earlier variant. Five cases of this variant have been reported in the country.

There is information about the detection of this person in the report of genome sequencing conducted at Jaipur SMS Medical College. Dr. Bharti Malhotra, HOD, Microbiology, Medical College, told that this case is from Sodala area of Jaipur and came to us for investigation in the last week of December, in which the new variant has been confirmed.

However, the officials of the Health Department are not yet confirming this. Jaipur CMHO Dr. Vijay Faujdar says that till now we have not received any information about this patient. After getting the information, further action will be taken by gathering information about the history of the patient and his contact person. Sources say that the patient was found in Jaipur and came positive in December last year. It is also being told that the patient had returned from the US in December itself.

104 times more effective than the old variant

According to experts, this variant spreads infection by neutralizing the vaccination and naturally made anti-bodies in our body. Not only this, this infection spreads in our body 104 times faster than all the variants till now. So far we do not have any such vaccine or immunity that can prevent infection with this virus.

What will be the effect of this variant on India?

The new variant will not create havoc in India like the second wave coming from the Delta variant. The reason for this is that the first dose of vaccination has been given to about 95 percent people in India. Apart from this, 90 percent have got double dose vaccination. In such a situation, even if the infection spreads, the rate of hospitalization will be less.

returned on 19 December

A total of 5 cases of the new variant of Omicron have been reported in the country so far. Of these, 3 are in Gujarat, while one is found in Karnataka. The infected person found in Jaipur is a 21-year-old youth and a resident of Sodala area. This young man came to Delhi from America on 19th December.

He got the Covid test done on December 23 after complaining of fever, in which it was found positive. After getting positive, consulted a private hospital doctor online and took medicines and got cured.

Today, when the team of CMHO reached the house of that young man, only one care taker was found there and all the family members have gone outside for some program. When the team talked to the care taker and the family members, they told that all the family members had got the Covid test done, in which all were negative and normal. It is being told that the young man is graduating from America.
