Attached assets worth more than Rs 100 crore

Please tell that under the Gangster Act, property worth crores of Yakub and family has been attached. Former BSP minister Yakub Qureshi was arrested late last night. It may be noted that in July last year, the Meerut district administration had attached assets worth over Rs 100 crore belonging to former Uttar Pradesh minister and senior Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Haji Yakub Qureshi.

Vid family nominated in illegal meat plant operation case

The police had then told that on March 31, 2022, illegal meat worth about five crore rupees was caught in the joint action of police-administration and several other departments at Qureshi's factory Al Faheem Meatex Pvt Ltd located on Hapur Road. The police arrested 10 employees red-handed while packing meat illegally. Yakub Qureshi, his wife Sanjeeda Begum, sons Imran and Firoz were named as accused in the case of illegal meat plant operation. An attachment warrant was pasted on Qureshi's house, ordering Qureshi to appear before the court along with his family, but he did not respond. During this, the property worth more than Rs 100 crore was attached by the police.

Yakub Qureshi's old association with controversies

Former BSP minister Haji Yakub Qureshi has an old association with controversies. In 2006, he had announced a reward of 51 crores to the person who beheaded the Danish cartoonist who made cartoons of Prophet Mohammad. Qureshi also justified the attack on the office of French magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris. He had then said that insolence in the religion of Islam and the glory of Prophet-e-Islam Mohammad Sahib cannot be forgiven under any circumstances. Not only this, Yakub had also announced Rs 51 crore to those who attacked the magazine's office.
