CM Siddaramaiah: The crisis continues for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Governor Thaawar Chandra Gehlot has approved the prosecution against him in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment scam. Due to this, the pressure on Siddaramaiah to resign has increased. On Saturday, the Congress took out a Raj Bhavan Chalo march on this issue, aimed at pressuring the governor to reconsider the approval of the prosecution.Meanwhile, in response to an RTI, it has been revealed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is spending Rs 54 lakh on managing social media accounts. This amount is for both personal and official accounts. According to the Times of India, RTI activist Maralinga Goud Mali Patil obtained this information.The Chief Minister's Office said that Siddaramaiah's social media expenditure is much less than that of former chief ministers. From October last year to March 2024, the Chief Minister's Office has spent about Rs 3 crore, which includes about Rs 53.9 lakh every month. This expense includes 18% GST and the payment has been made to a company called 'Policy Front', which handles Siddaramaiah's accounts. A team of 25 people has been appointed for this task.Amidst such expenses and scams, the situation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has become even more difficult, and questions are being raised on the future of his government.
