India added at least 15 new billionaires in the last six months and now has 117 billionaires who are collectively worth over $300 billion, according to Forbes' real-time data. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian billionaire with $88.9 billion wealth, followed by HCL Technologies Founder Shiv Nadar ($19.9 billion) and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani ($18.7 billion).

Mumbai: Even as the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the personal savings of hundreds of people and wrecked damage across global economies — some have become richer. India has added at least 15 billionaires in the last six months.

According to the Forbes list, there are 117 billionaires in India right now — who collectively have $300 billion. Mukesh Ambani, who helms the oil-to-telecom conglomerate, Reliance Industries, is the richest person in India with a net worth of $88 billion. He is followed by Shiv Nadar and Gautam Adani.
