Delhi New CM Atishi: At around 4.45 pm on Tuesday evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena. At this important moment, he was accompanied by his close aide Atishi and four other ministers. The Delhi government has called a two-day assembly session on the upcoming 26 and 27 September, in which steps will be taken towards the formation of a new government. This development has brought the political turmoil of Delhi to a new turn.Earlier, Atishi Marlena was announced to be made the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Kejriwal proposed Atishi's name in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Legislature Party meeting on Tuesday, which was supported by the MLAs. Announcing the decision, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai said, "We have taken this decision in difficult circumstances. Kejriwal's integrity has been maligned, and until the public elects him, he will not sit on the Chief Minister's chair." Speaking to the media, Atishi said, "I thank my guru Arvind Kejriwal ji, who gave me such a big responsibility. Do not congratulate me, do not garland me. It is a sad moment for me and the people of Delhi that our beloved Chief Minister will resign."Meanwhile, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal took a dig at Kejriwal's resignation and said, "The person whose family fought for terrorist Afzal Guru has been made the Chief Minister by the Aam Aadmi Party. May God protect Delhi. Today is a very sad day for Delhi."After getting bail from the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case on September 13, Kejriwal had announced to leave the post of Chief Minister on September 15. He had said, "Now the public should decide whether I am honest or dishonest. If the public washes away the stain and wins the assembly elections, I will sit on the chair again."Now, Atishi is going to start a new era in Delhi. She has presented her claim to form a new government in front of LG Vinay Saxena. In this context, Minister Atishi said that false allegations have been made against Kejriwal and he was kept in jail for six months. The Supreme Court reacted sharply to this. He further said, "If there would have been any other leader, he would have sat on the chair immediately, but what Kejriwal did, perhaps no leader in the world would have done."Gopal Rai also reacted to this and said, "After coming out of jail, Kejriwal had announced that until the people of Delhi do not re-elect him, he will not sit on the Chief Minister's chair. Under this, he has submitted his resignation."Atishi has been elected as the leader of the legislature party in the meeting of the legislature party. Gopal Rai has requested the Lieutenant Governor to fix the date of oath as soon as possible, so that the two crore people of Delhi get convenience. He also promised that Arvind Kejriwal will be made the Chief Minister again by holding elections as soon as possible. This development has set a new direction in Delhi politics. In the coming time, it will have to be seen in which direction the Delhi government will move under the leadership of Atishi and how much it lives up to the expectations of the people.
