CRPF jawan martyred in attack

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was martyred in an attack by suspected militants in Mongbung village of Jiribam district in Manipur on Sunday morning. Police said that a policeman was also injured in this attack. He is undergoing treatment in a hospital. The deceased jawan has been identified as Ajay Kumar Jha (43) of Bihar.

The Chief Minister condemned the attack

Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh condemned the attack and said that I strongly condemn the attack by an armed group in Jiribam and the death of a CRPF jawan in it. The Kuki militant group is suspected to be involved in this attack. CM Biren said that the supreme sacrifice of the jawan while discharging his duty will not go in vain.
