Sushil Kumar Modi News: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi passed away on Monday night. His funeral will take place today at around 6 pm in Patna. 72-year-old Sushil Modi, suffering from cancer, breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi at around 9:45 pm on Monday night. According to party sources, BJP National President JP Nadda will also attend the last rites of Sushil Modi at the crematorium at Digha Ghat in Patna this evening. A large number of celebrities are also expected to participate during this period.

The funeral will take place this evening

A senior Bihar BJP leader said, “Sushil Modi's mortal remains will be brought from Delhi to Patna airport between 11 am and 11.30 am and will be taken to his residence in Rajendra Nagar area of Patna. Later the body will be taken to the Bihar Assembly and then to the BJP state headquarters, where party workers will pay their last respects to the late leader. His funeral will be held at 5.50 pm at Digha Ghat crematorium in Patna, which will be attended by BJP National President JP Nadda.

Let us tell you that 72-year-old Sushil Modi had served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2013 and again between 2017 and 2020. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior leaders on Monday condoled the demise of the BJP leader. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also expressed grief over the demise of Sushil Modi. Sushil Modi wrote in his post on social media platform 'X' on April 3, 2024 that "I have been struggling with cancer for the last 6 months. Now I felt the time had come to tell people. I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections. Everything has been told to the Prime Minister. Always grateful and always dedicated to the country, Bihar and the party.
