Manipur Violence News: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has reached Manipur. After meeting the people of the state, he held a press conference in Imphal. In this, Rahul said that since the dispute started here, I have come for the third time. I went to many camps. Talked to the people. Heard their pain. I came here to talk to them and give them courage. There is a need to restore peace here. Rahul Gandhi said that violence has devastated people. I have not seen anything like this anywhere in India which is happening in Manipur. I want to tell the people of the state that I am your brother. We will try our best to restore peace. I have spoken to the Governor. I will not do politics on this. The whole of Manipur is going through pain. Whenever the people of the state need my and Congress's help, we stand with you.

Thought that there would have been a lot of improvement on the ground

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, I thought that there would have been a lot of improvement on the ground but sadly it has not happened. I just want to say that hatred and violence are not going to solve the problem. Things can be resolved with love and brotherhood. We told the governor that we will help in whatever way we can.

Rahul said that we do not think that things are improving. I want to tell PM Modi that Manipur is a state. He should have come here long ago. Manipur wants the PM of the country to come here and listen to the voice of the people. This will greatly benefit the people of Manipur.

Rahul met Governor Anusuiya Uikey

Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps at many places in the state. He talked to the victims of ethnic violence living there. After this, he met Governor Anusuiya Uikey. This is Rahul's third visit since ethnic violence broke out in May last year. People displaced due to violence in the state have been living in these relief camps since May last year. More than 200 people have lost their lives in the violence.

Rahul has targeted PM Modi on the issue of violence

Congress MPs have been raising the issue of Manipur violence from the streets to the Parliament. Recently in the Lok Sabha also he had said that PM went everywhere but not Manipur. This violence broke out in Manipur when a tribal unity march was organised in the hill districts of the state in protest against the demand of inclusion of Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST). Nobody knows how many efforts were made to calm down the ethnic violence in Manipur but the matter is still serious. Incidents of firing keep coming up here every day.
