After hearing the arguments of the ED, the court reserved the order to decide on the prosecution's complaint (ED chargesheet).Controversy over Railway Group D appointmentsThe ED informed the court that there is sufficient evidence to prosecute the accused. The root of the matter is related to the Railway Group D appointments, which took place when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister. The ED carried forward its investigation on the basis of the FIR lodged by the CBI. The ED alleges that in exchange for these appointments, plots were gifted or transferred to Lalu Prasad Yadav's family or associates.Lalu Prasad Yadav's tenure and controversyThis case dates back to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009. In exchange for the appointments made at that time, land was allegedly given in the name of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo's family. Today's decision of the court in this case is being considered important from many points of view.
